B-RAX Vacuum Gauge Controller setpoint relays with higher contact rating

The setpoint relays used in the B-RAX 3000 series vacuum gauge controllers are now provided with higher contact rating. This applies to all three B-RAX controller models shipped after Nov 1, 2015.

New relay contact rating: 5A at 30 Vdc, 5 A at 250 Vac, resistive load.

Old contact rating: 1 A at 30 Vdc resistive, or 1 A at 30 Vac non-inductive.

InstruTech has announced the release of  its new B-RAX 3400 UHV EB-Degas vacuum gauge controller.   This highly versatile instrument is affordable and offers numerous features in a very small package. The B-RAX 3400 is offered with three independent front panel pressure measurement LED displays as well as a setup and programming OLED display.  The new B-RAX 3400 is capable of operating one InstruTech BA601 UHV nude hot cathode EB-degasionization gauge and two InstruTech CVG101 Worker Bee convection vacuum gauge sensors, allowing pressure measurement capability from atmosphere to 2.00E-11 Torr. The B-RAX 3400  provides 3 analog outputs, 6 setpoint relays, remote Digital I/O, RS232 and RS485 serial communications as standard features.

The B-RAX 3200 is capable of operating one InstruTech IGM400 hot cathode or one InstruTech CCM500 cold cathode ionization gauge module and two InstruTech CVG101 Worker Bee convection vacuum gauge sensors, allowing pressure measurement capability from atmosphere to 1.00E-09 Torr.  The new B-RAX provides 3 analog outputs, 6 setpoint relays, remote Digital I/O, RS232 and RS485 serial communications as standard features.

New Release - UHV configuration for the FlexRax® 4000 controller provides vacuum pressure measurement as low as 2.00E-11 Torr

InstruTech has just released the UHV version of its popular FlexRax® 4000 vacuum gauge controller.   When used with the InstruTech BA601 UHV Nude EB deags Bayard-Alpert or equivalent vacuum gauge transducer, the new FlexRax UHV configuration can provide vacuum pressure measurements as low as 2.00E-11 Torr.   The FlexRax can operate up to four ionization, four convection enhanced pirani and two capacitance diaphragm vacuum gauges . Additionally it can provide up to 8 analog outputs, 16 setpoint relays and RS485/RS232 serial communications.

Simplified User Interface for IGM401 and IGM402 Ionization Vacuum Gauges

InstruTech's IGM401 and IGM402 Hornet Ionization gauge (IG) user interface have been simplified to allow users quick access to the set-up and programming menus for turning the IG filament On/Off, perform degas or select emission current.   In the previous version of these products, when the mode of operation selected was FRONT PANEL (operation of the instruments via use of front panel push buttons), activating the IG filament required the following push button sequences in order to turn the IG filament on or off.
MENU →  SET UP UNIT → FP OPERATE → UNIT ON/OFF → ON or OFF 

With the new IGM401/402 firmware update implemented in May 2013, when the mode of operation selected is FRONT PANEL, there only needs to be two push button sequences to turn the IG filament on (or off):  MENU → IG ON   or   MENU → IG OFF
The user will see the IG On / IG Off selections immediately at the top level menu. Degas On/Off and emission current selections are also now available as the top level menu choices.

IGM402 is now available with ASCII protocol

When using RS485 serial communications, in addition to the current modified Modbus RTU protocal format with CRC8 error checking capability,  the IGM402 is now available with the newly released ASCII format.   From the programming menu, the user can now select either the Modbus or ASCII format for serial communications.  The ASCII format is the most common and simpler format to implement when using serial communications.

Ion gauge auto ranging

IGM401 Ionization gauge and the B-RAX Multi-Gauge Controller are now both offered with automatic switching of emission current. The emission current can be set to automatically switch between 4 ma and 100 uA. This results in optimal and stable pressure readings over the entire measurement range from rough to high vacuum.

Tungsten filaments now available

InstruTech is now offering optional Tungsten filaments for its IGM series of Hornet Ionization vacuum gauges. The optional dual tungsten filaments are available for use in applications not compatible with standard Yttria coated Iridium filaments such as those gases containing chlorine, fluorine, etc.
